How to Manage Clinic Settings

The Settings page is where you configure everything about how your clinic operates on MyDentalPractice.

Accessing Settings

Click Settings in the sidebar. Only users with Admin or Owner roles can access all settings. Other roles see limited options relevant to their permissions.

Settings Sections

Clinic Profile

  • Clinic Name — Displayed on all patient-facing communications
  • Clinic Code — Your unique identifier
  • Logo — Appears on invoices, prescriptions, and the patient portal
  • Address — Physical location(s)
  • Contact Information — Phone, email, website
  • Business Hours

    Configure your weekly operating schedule:

  • Set open/close times for each day of the week
  • Add breaks (e.g., lunch from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM)
  • Mark days as closed
  • Set holiday closures for specific dates
  • Business hours affect appointment availability and are displayed to patients booking online.

    Treatment Catalog

    Manage the treatments your clinic offers:

  • Add, edit, or deactivate treatments
  • Set default duration and pricing
  • Organize into categories
  • Link treatments to inventory items for auto-deduction
  • Dental Rooms

    If your clinic has multiple operatories:

  • Go to Settings → Dental Rooms
  • Click + Add Room
  • Name the room (e.g., "Operatory 1", "Surgery Room")
  • Assign equipment and capabilities
  • Rooms appear as scheduling options when booking appointments
  • Notification Preferences

    Billing Settings

  • Default payment terms
  • Tax rate configuration
  • Bank account details for invoices
  • Invoice numbering format
  • Currency settings (NGN)
  • Integrations

    Connect external services:

  • Paystack (online payments)
  • Google Calendar / Outlook (calendar sync)
  • SMS provider settings
  • Data Management

    Export Clinic Data

    Go to Settings → Data → Export to download:

  • All patient records as CSV
  • Appointment history
  • Financial data
  • Full database backup (Enterprise plan)
  • Delete Clinic Account

    Only the clinic Owner can delete the account. This action is irreversible and requires:

  • Entering the clinic name to confirm
  • Password verification
  • 2FA code (if enabled)
