Account Setup Guide

Welcome to MyDentalPractice! This guide walks you through every step of setting up your account and configuring your clinic for daily operations.

Step 1: Create Your Account

  • Visit app.mydentalpractice.ng/signup
  • Enter your full name, email address, and a strong password
  • Select your plan — Starter, Professional, or Enterprise
  • Click Create Account to proceed
  • You will receive a verification email within a few minutes. Click the link in that email to activate your account.

    Step 2: Complete Clinic Profile

    After logging in for the first time, you will be guided through the clinic setup wizard:

  • Clinic Name — The name displayed on invoices and patient communications
  • Clinic Code — A unique short code (e.g., "SMILE-LG") used internally
  • Address — Your full physical address including city and state
  • Phone Number — Primary contact number for the clinic
  • Logo — Upload your clinic logo (recommended size: 200x200px, PNG or JPG)
  • Step 3: Configure Business Hours

    Navigate to Settings → Business Hours to set your weekly schedule:

  • Toggle each day on or off
  • Set opening and closing times for each active day
  • Add lunch breaks or mid-day closures if needed
  • Click Save Hours to apply
  • These hours are used by the appointment scheduler to prevent overbooking and to inform patients of your availability.

    Step 4: Set Up Treatment Categories

    Go to Settings → Treatments to configure the procedures your clinic offers:

  • Click Add Treatment to create a new entry
  • Enter the treatment name (e.g., "Root Canal Treatment")
  • Set the default duration in minutes
  • Set the default price in Naira
  • Assign a category (Preventive, Restorative, Cosmetic, Surgical, Orthodontic)
  • Having treatments configured upfront makes appointment booking and invoicing much faster.

    Step 5: Configure Notification Preferences

    Under Settings → Notifications, choose how your clinic communicates:

  • SMS Reminders — Enable automatic appointment reminders via SMS
  • Email Notifications — Toggle email alerts for new bookings and cancellations
  • Reminder Timing — Set how far in advance reminders are sent (24 hours, 48 hours, or both)
  • Step 6: Add Your Team

    Invite your staff from Settings → Team Members. See our detailed User Management guide for step-by-step instructions on roles and permissions.
