Where to Find Inventory Reports

MyDentalPractice provides several inventory reports to help you understand supply usage patterns, costs, and stock health.

Accessing Reports

Navigate to Analytics → Inventory Reports or click Reports from within the Inventory module.

Available Reports

Stock Valuation Report

Shows the total monetary value of your current inventory:

  • Item name, quantity on hand, cost per unit, total value
  • Grand total valuation across all items
  • Breakdown by category
  • Useful for: Accounting, insurance, and financial planning.

    Usage Report

    Tracks how supplies are consumed over time:

  • Select a date range
  • View quantity used per item
  • See which treatments consume the most supplies
  • Compare usage month-over-month
  • Useful for: Budgeting, identifying waste, and negotiating bulk discounts with suppliers.

    Expiry Report

    Lists items approaching or past their expiry date:

  • Items expiring within 30 days (highlighted in orange)
  • Already expired items (highlighted in red)
  • Total value of expiring/expired stock
  • Useful for: Reducing waste, rotating stock, and compliance.

    Low Stock Report

    Current snapshot of items at or below their reorder level:

  • Item name, current quantity, reorder level, deficit
  • Suggested order quantity
  • Supplier information
  • Movement History

    Detailed log of all stock-in and stock-out transactions:

  • Date, item, quantity, direction (in/out), reason, recorded by
  • Filter by item, date range, or movement type
  • Export to CSV
  • Exporting Reports

    All inventory reports can be exported:

  • PDF — Formatted for printing or sharing
  • CSV — For import into spreadsheets
  • Excel — With formatting and charts
  • Click the Export button in the top right of any report.
