How to Set Up Reorder Alerts

Never run out of essential supplies. Reorder alerts notify you when inventory items drop below a threshold you set.

Setting Reorder Levels

Per-Item Reorder Level

  • Open any item in Inventory
  • Find the Reorder Level field
  • Enter the minimum quantity (e.g., 10 for glove boxes, 5 for composite tubes)
  • Click Save
  • When stock falls to or below this number, the item appears in the Low Stock Alerts section.

    Bulk Update

    To set reorder levels for multiple items at once:

  • Go to Inventory → Settings → Reorder Levels
  • Click Bulk Edit
  • Set reorder levels for each item in the spreadsheet view
  • Click Save All
  • Alert Delivery

    Configure how you receive reorder alerts at Settings → Notifications → Inventory:

    Low Stock Dashboard

    The inventory dashboard highlights:

  • Critical (red) — Out of stock (quantity = 0)
  • Warning (orange) — At or below reorder level
  • Healthy (green) — Above reorder level
  • Suggested Order Quantities

    When an item triggers a reorder alert, the system suggests an order quantity based on:

  • Average monthly usage (calculated from stock-out history)
  • Lead time from supplier (if configured)
  • Buffer stock recommendation
  • This appears when you click Reorder on a low-stock item.

    Supplier Quick-Order

    If you have configured supplier contacts:

  • Click Reorder on a low-stock item
  • Review the suggested quantity
  • Click Send Order Request
  • An email is sent to the supplier with your order details
