About This Role
We're looking for a Senior Frontend Developer to help us build the future of dental practice management in Africa. You'll work on our React/Next.js application used by dental clinics across Nigeria and Ghana to manage patients, appointments, treatments, and billing.
This is a high-impact role where you'll shape the user experience for thousands of dental professionals. You'll collaborate closely with our product and design teams to create intuitive, accessible, and performant interfaces.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain responsive, performant UI components using React and Next.js
- Collaborate with designers to implement pixel-perfect interfaces
- Write clean, maintainable TypeScript code with proper testing
- Optimize application performance and Core Web Vitals
- Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews
- Contribute to technical decisions and architecture discussions
- Work with the backend team to design and consume REST APIs
- Implement offline-first features for clinics with unreliable internet
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of frontend development experience
- Expert knowledge of React, TypeScript, and modern CSS (Tailwind preferred)
- Experience with Next.js App Router and server components
- Strong understanding of web performance optimization
- Experience with state management (React Query, Zustand, or similar)
- Familiarity with testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library)
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently in a remote environment
Nice to Have
- Experience building healthcare or SaaS applications
- Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG)
- Experience with PWA development and service workers
- Familiarity with Prisma, PostgreSQL, or similar databases
- Open source contributions
