About This Role
We're seeking a Product Designer to craft beautiful, functional experiences for MyDentalPractice. You'll own the end-to-end design process, from user research and wireframing to high-fidelity prototypes and design system maintenance.
Our users are busy dental professionals who need software that's fast, intuitive, and gets out of their way. You'll design interfaces for patient management, appointment scheduling, treatment planning, billing, and more—all while considering the unique constraints of healthcare software in the African market.
What You'll Do
- Lead the design process from discovery to delivery
- Conduct user research and usability testing with dental clinic staff
- Create wireframes, user flows, and high-fidelity prototypes
- Maintain and evolve our design system
- Collaborate closely with engineers on implementation
- Present design decisions to stakeholders and incorporate feedback
- Advocate for user needs and accessibility standards
- Stay current with design trends and best practices
What We're Looking For
- 4+ years of product design experience
- Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product design work
- Proficiency with Figma (our primary design tool)
- Experience with design systems and component libraries
- Understanding of user-centered design principles
- Ability to translate complex workflows into simple interfaces
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work remotely
Nice to Have
- Experience designing healthcare or clinical software
- Background in user research methodologies
- Knowledge of frontend development (HTML, CSS, React)
- Experience with motion design and microinteractions
- Familiarity with accessibility guidelines (WCAG)
