About This Role
We're looking for a Data & Insights Analyst to unlock the power of our data. MyDentalPractice serves thousands of dental clinics across Nigeria and Ghana, generating rich datasets spanning patient records, clinical treatments, appointments, financial transactions, inventory, and HR operations.
You'll be our first dedicated data hire, working across all aspects of the business to build dashboards, uncover insights, and help us make better decisions. This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and business—translating raw data into stories that drive action.
We have foundational analytics in place, but there's enormous potential for predictive modeling, customer health scoring, clinical outcome tracking, and operational optimization.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain dashboards for clinical, financial, and operational metrics
- Analyze patient and treatment data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
- Develop customer health scores and churn prediction models for our SaaS platform
- Create reports on key business metrics: MRR, ARR, customer lifetime value, unit economics
- Work with product team to define and track feature adoption and engagement metrics
- Analyze appointment patterns to help clinics optimize scheduling and reduce no-shows
- Build financial analytics: procedure profitability, revenue forecasting, collections analysis
- Create data visualizations that communicate insights clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Document data models, metrics definitions, and reporting processes
- Identify data quality issues and work with engineering to resolve them
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics engineering
- Strong SQL skills—you can write complex queries, optimize performance, and work with large datasets
- Experience with BI/visualization tools (Metabase, Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar)
- Proficiency with spreadsheets for ad-hoc analysis and modeling
- Understanding of SaaS metrics: MRR, churn, LTV, CAC, cohort analysis
- Ability to translate business questions into data analyses and communicate findings clearly
- Self-starter who can identify high-impact opportunities without being told what to analyze
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Nice to Have
- Experience with Python or R for statistical analysis
- Background in healthcare, clinical data, or health tech
- Experience with PostgreSQL specifically
- Knowledge of predictive modeling or machine learning basics
- Experience building data pipelines or working with dbt
- Familiarity with product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, PostHog)
- Understanding of multi-tenant SaaS data architectures
- Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks
